We are seeking a Lab Assistant/Tutor for the Computer & Information Sciences (CIS) Department. This person will assist the Chairman of the Computer & Information Sciences Department and the CIS Academic Lab Manager in maintaining and operating the Academic Computer & Information Sciences Labs. Example of Duties: Assist in maintaining and operating the computers in Rooms H308 and H311 that provide facilities for Computer & Information Science students as required for their courses each semester. Assist CIS students in using the computers and other computer equipment in conjunction with assignments in their courses. Assist CIS instructors in the use of computer hardware and software for their students. Tutor students on subject matter that is part of the course syllabus in CIS courses. Perform related duties as assigned by the Chairman of the CIS Department and the CIS Academic Lab Manager. Qualifications: Enrolled in or graduate of A.A.S. Degree Program in CIS or equivalent educational or work experience in computer field. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer languages as needed. Ability to communicate orally and work with people. Ability to effectively assist students in the completion of their assignments. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate. Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $15.49. Benefits: New Jersey Sick Leave : Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year.
